You can recover files but not directories. Complicated installation (because the app is set of perl scripts) and there is no possibility to rollback directories. I've also tested the app on linux and there is another problem. It's not big deal, but this directory can grow even to 100 GB (in my situation). App is creating iDriveLocal directory on "random" (or the largest - i'm not sure) disk. You shoild manually cancel backup task and start it again and be hopefull that it will complete this time. The process hang very frequently, almost every backup. First sync works but later you must be prepared for problems, for example: - "Preparing file list" hangs - when backup starts, the first thing app does, it creates file list for backup. For backup mobile phones the app is great. I have connected 5 devices to my account.

It's only worth to backup the android phones. What am I paying for? Do I have to monitor the integrity of my backup? Isn't that their job? Their solution: reinstall the application. I didn't even get one of their lame "backup failed" emails.

When I went to recover these files from my "backup" I was pissed when I realized that my PC hadn't been backed up since I received that one "success" email.

Yesterday I screwed up a bunch of files for a software program that I've been writing.

And then I saw the word "success" in their report. Last year I found out that no backup were taking place for over 6 months. The help feels like it's not from "around here" if you catch my drift. There should be a separate notification that stands out like a sore thumb. Not very noticeable since you don't really pay attention to these things after a while. I've had several times where my backups were failing for some reason but didn't realize it because all they do to notify you is add the word "failed" in their daily emails. I've been using idrive to "backup" 2 very important PCs for over 3 years. It didn't matter how big or small the selection of files was, the app simply did not upload a single file! I've read this is typical so I simply cannot recommend this solution. All the app did was continually say that it was creating a file list. ORIGINAL REVIEW I spent more than 7 hours trying to get iDrive to backup any of my professional photos with zero success. I'm not saying that this is a deal-breaker considering the price, but it does make backing up data a tedious process. I should mention that I have broadband and that I estimate other upload services to be about twice as fast. At this rate, it will take several days to upload the 2TB of data I'd like to store in the cloud.

The app is estimating that it will take roughly 24 more ours to complete. I started a 466GB upload yesterday and 12 hours late, only 20% has been uploaded. Although the app is working, I can't say it's working quickly. UPDATE The good new is IDrive support did get back to me the same day and found a solution of clearing the app cache that finally got the files uploading.
